How to qualify for the Volvo World Match Play Championship?

For the past few days is available on the official website of
the Volvo World Match Play final classification criteria for the "second"
edition of this renovated, historic tournament will travel to the majestic Villa
Cortesin, in the town of Casares ( Malaga), from 19 to 22 May 2011, which will
be the second stop of a lucrative series starting last week to The Players
Championship on the PGA Tour and will continue with the BMW PGA Championship on
the European Tour.


In 2009, England’s Ross Fisher put the icing on a successful Volvo World Match
Play Championship blessed with a remarkable number of visitors and a sunny
climate (point to mention where we are now living the consequences of a poor
Ryder Cup Wales set to fall … .) One year, the Costa del Sol enjoys one of the
highlights of the international golfing scene, that in a couple of weeks around
the rebound circuit to Valderrama Golf Club for the Masters Andalucia, and in
2011 will live doubly following confirmation of the inclusion of two tournaments
on the European Tour calendar for the next four to five years, respectively.

Thus, for the 2011 edition of the Volvo World Match Play Championship, these are
the six ways to qualify and win one of the twenty available slots and join those
already present Ross Fisher (defending champions, category A) and Yong Eun Yang
(winner Volvo China Open 2010, category B):

- Category C: the top four players, not previously classified (NAC) of the Final
Race To Dubai 2010.

- Category D: eight players selected on the basis of their performance in six
tournaments on the European Tour:

• The top two players (nac) of Andalucia Valderrama, 2010 Masters and the Open
de Andalucia 2011.

• The best player (NAC) of the Dubai World Championship in 2010, the Volvo Golf
Champions, 2011, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship 2011 and the Volvo China
Open 2011.

• In these six cases, the limit for eligibility for will be the top 5 of the
final rankings of these tournaments. The vacancies would be filled from the
Final Race To Dubai 2010.

- Category E: the best player in the six regions of OWGR (nac): Europe, Africa /
Middle East, North America, South America, Asia (China, Southeast Asia, India,
Japan and South Korea) and Oceania (Australia, Fiji Islands and New Zealand).

- Category F: the best player in OWGR (nac) after defeating the U.S. Masters in
2011.

- Category G: the first two players (NAC) of the Race to Dubai after defeating
the U.S. Masters in 2011.

- Category H: a player invited by the organization that is ranked within the top
50 of OWGR after defeating the U.S. Masters in 2011.

Any waiver to occur in categories A, B, C or D is replaced by the highest ranked
player available in the Final Race To Dubai 2010. In category E / F and G, will
be used to world ranking and the Race to Dubai after defeating the U.S. Masters
in 2011, respectively. In category F, the vacancy would be covered by another
golfer in the top 50 of OWGR after defeating the U.S. Masters in 2011, and if
not possible, the best player available, the Final Race To Dubai 2010.

Once the draw is announced at 09:00 pm on Monday, May 16, 2011, be designated a
reserve player, and should there be a subsequent waiver.

19 to May 20, 2011 will be held the first two days of the Volvo World Match Play
matches for the league phase (eight groups of three players each), and where the
top two in each group advance to offs.

On Saturday May 20, 2011 will be the time of the eighth and quarter-finals and
Sunday the semi-finals and final. All matches will be played in match play
format and eighteen holes.
